Integrated Masters of Arts in Archaeology

Ideal for those with an interest in the physical remnants of people of the past, archaeology courses straddle the humanities and social sciences to look at human history through many millions of years of development. To do this, archaeologists study historical sites, structural remains, bones, tools and other artefacts. Though not guaranteed to be as dramatic as the famous on-screen adventures of fictional archaeology professor Indiana Jones, archaeology nonetheless offers exciting opportunities to be at the forefront of new discoveries and theories. Integrated Masters degree programs in archaeology hone students' skills in processing, analysis, computing, methods and theory related to archaeology. History, culture and art are also integrated into coursework. Students in the program for archaeology or anthropology have plenty of research opportunities abroad to participate in fieldwork. Course Content •Prehistoric Archaeology •Graeco-Roman Studies and Archaeology •Graeco-Roman Literature •Graeco-Roman History and Languages •Ancient European Studies and Archaeology •Egyptian Studies and Archaeology •History of Ancient Egypt •Greek Pottery and Pottery-Painting •Greek Philosophy •Hellenistic Art (Architecture & Sculpture) •Roman Archaeology (Architecture & Sculpture) •Greek and Hellenistic Coins •Graeco-Roman Mythologies Entry Requirements A minimum of 6 certificates, two of which being at Advanced level and three at Intermediate level and one at ordinary level. A subject cannot be offered at more than one level. Foreign students must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Qualifications Authority. Besides the aforementioned certificates, they must provide a certificate in English language to demonstrate that they can follow the course of studies with profit. A general certificate of education in the English language or other certificates of a similar level would be accepted. Students of age 23 or older and considered to be mature students. Mature students not having all the necessary requirements may still be admitted, provided that after being examined individually, the Faculty Board of the Pro Deo International ascertains that they can follow the course with profit.
