Integrated Masters of Arts in Egyptology Ideal for those with an interest in the physical remnants of people of the past, Our Egyptology course offers you the chance to make a genuine scholarly contribution to the field. The course allows the student to discovers the history of Egypt from the earliest Predynastic Period to the end of Pharaonic Egypt with the death of Queen Cleopatra and the annexation of Egypt by Roman Empire. The course offers an opportunity to explore the past through the study of a different civilisation and will help you to consider the lives and attitudes, perceptions and beliefs of a people whose long-lived civilization is one of the foundation stones of our modern world. The Integrated degree programs in archaeology hone students' skills in processing, analysis, computing, methods and theory related to archaeology and help you develop your research and analytical skills and lay good foundations for your PhD in the field of archaeology and ancient history Course Content Ancient Egyptian Grammar Ancient Egyptian Archaeology from the Early Dynastic Period to the End of the Old Kingdom Archaeology and Civilisation of Egypt in the Islamic Period Prehistoric Archaeology Ancient Near East Civilisation Ancient Sudan Civilisation History of Ancient Egypt from the First Intermediate Period to the End of the Second Intermediate Period Ancient Egyptian Language, History and Archaeology from the Middle Egyptian Language History of Ancient Egyptian in the Middle Kingdom of Egypt Museum Art / Ancient Egyptian Society / Excavation Art Ancient Egyptian Language, History and Archaeology of Ancient Egyptian in the New Kingdom of Egypt Thought and Religion in Ancient Egypt History and Archaeology of Ancient Egypt during the Third Intermediate Period through the Late Period Ptolemaic Hieroglyphs History and Archaeology of Ancient Egypt in the Graeco-Roman Period Archaeological Readings in a Modern European Language Entry Requirements A minimum of 6 certificates, two of which being at Advanced level and three at Intermediate level and one at ordinary level. A subject cannot be offered at more than one level. Foreign students must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Qualifications Authority. Besides the aforementioned certificates, they must provide a certificate in English language to demonstrate that they can follow the course of studies with profit. A general certificate of education in the English language or other certificates of a similar level would be accepted. Students of age 23 or older and considered to be mature students. Mature students not having all the necessary requirements may still be admitted, provided that after being examined individually, the Faculty Board of the Pro Deo International ascertains that they can follow the course with profit.
